An exciting new update for the CircleMe app
We’ve been really busy making sure that the CircleMe app is better than ever. So today we are going to run through some of the features and improvements in the new version of the app.
What are the changes?
- First of all, it’s quicker than ever to sign up and get started adding your likes, as we have included the ability to sign up with Facebook. Just tap ‘Sign Up with Facebook’ and you’ll be taken to the Facebook app where you are just a press of ‘OK’ away from signing up with CircleMe.
- One of the coolest new features is browsing plants on a map straight from the app. This is another great feature of the CircleMe.com site that we have added to the app, and it helps you discover even more likes than before!
- You can now view your entire inbox and messages from within the app, so get suggesting Likes to other CircleMe users!
- Not sure who to add to your Trusted network? Well now you can find a list of users you might find interesting right from the CircleMe app! This list shows all like minded people on CircleMe, and trusting them will mean you’ll find even more exciting things to Like.
- Stories are now displayed right in the app, no need to open the link in Safari. Our new integrated browser means that reading some of the interesting stories and videos posted on CircleMe is easy to do, just tap!
- Forgotten your password? D’oh! Don’t worry, just tap ‘Forgot password?’ when signing in and we’ll send you an email letting you reset your password to something a little more memorable.
- Someone you Trust just added a picture? Or maybe a story? Well now you can vote on almost anything that happens on CircleMe.
- Little bit confused about how to get started using the app? We’ve included a helpful video that explains just what CircleMe is about when you first sign up.
- Along with all these great new features, there are lots of smaller bug fixes and improvements to make sure that the CircleMe app is better than ever!
If you have any suggestions about what we should include in the next update, or anything else to do with CircleMe you can share it with us by commenting on this post, or by contacting us through our Twitter account or Facebook page!
CircleMe Summer Marketing Intern
Get more from your likes with Bompiani Editori
CircleMe is all about interests, passions, likes… However, it’s not just about collecting them: It’s about getting more from these likes and being able to enjoy them.
What do we mean by that? It might be enjoying interesting conversations, or finding out about interesting articles related to your likes. Also browsing photos, watching videos, and being able to listen to samples of artists you discover on CircleMe.
But we don’t want to stop there. We want to give you more about what you care about the most. For this reason, we’ve started to work with Bompiani Editori to bring you free chapters of books related to your likes! The first books you’ll be able to enjoy are: “Amy Ma Figlia” by Mitch Winehouse and “L’Amore È La Cura” by Elton John.
How does it work? When you go to the page of either Amy Winehouse or Elton John, on the top right corner you will see a notice indicating that you can download the book. During the next months we’ll be working hard to help you enjoy your likes more, so stay tuned for more news!
Please not that this goodie is currently available to Italian users only. If you’re having problems downloading any of the books, please send an email to support@circleme.com
A new member of the CircleMe team!
Hi, it’s Javier from the Marketing Team,
As the CircleMe community expands and we keep on adding cool new features, the CircleMe team is growing with talented people that strive to create a great experience for all Circlers. On the other hand, we pride ourselves on caring about and listening to the CircleMe community. So it is a great pleasure for us to announce that our latest addition to the CircleMe team also happens to be a great CircleMe user: James Cook.
James just joined the CircleMe team as a Summer Intern based in our London office. He is very enthusiastic and looks forward to helping grow the CircleMe community and improve the CircleMe experience. But what better than having James Cook tell us a bit more about himself?
“As you can see from my CircleMe profile I’m a real music lover, with 613 likes for music alone. My 3 favorite likes on the site are Led Zeppelin, The Stone Roses and Jimi Hendrix. I’ve been a CircleMe user for a long time, joining when the site was invite-only back in October 2011, so it is a real pleasure to be involved with bringing CircleMe to new users.
For the next few months I’ll be writing blog posts and keeping our Twitter and Facebook accounts up to date with all the latest news. I’ll also try to do my best for the the CircleMe community so I’d really like to hear from you all about your experiences with the site, and also any improvements you may have in mind. You can send me a message through my CircleMe profile. If you have any questions at all please let me know and I’ll be super-happy to answer them. I look forward to talking to you all!”
Announcing CircleMe User Meet-ups in Rome and Paris!
If you follow this blog, you’ll know that some months ago, we organized two great CircleMe users’ meetups. The first one took place near our offices in London, whereas the second took place in our HQ in Milan. As these were great fun and we really enjoyed meeting our users, we’ve decided to organize two more CircleMe users’ meetups in two beautiful cities: Rome and Paris!
Rome
You can read all about the Rome meet-up here!
When we organised the meet-up in Milan, we realised that many of our users in Rome would have loved to attend, but it was too far 😦 So, we decided to organize a meet-up for them too! The meet-up in Rome will take place on the 9th of July. Are you interestested? Please email elena@cascaad.com to get the address of the place where we’ll be meeting!
Paris
After the UK and Italy, France will be the third destination for our CircleMe meet-up! And having one of our biggest communities in France, we’re sure it will be a great success! This meet-up will take place in Paris on the 18th of July, 6:00 pm at:
19, avenue Victoria 75001 Paris
métro Châtelet (sortie Théâtre du Châtelet)
Why do we organise these meet-ups?
When we work on improving CircleMe, we don’t think about numbers: We work hard to create something great for people like you. For this reason, getting to know our real users is very important to us: We want to learn how you think we could improve CircleMe, but also get to know who our users are, which means that we might end up talking about anything like music, sports, politics… or anything you are passionate about! Obviously, there is no fee to attend the meet-up or anything like that! In fact, the earlier you join us, the more likely we’ll treat you to a drink 😉
If you are near Rome and Paris during those dates, please join us! It will be real fun!!
Updated iPhone app

- Direct Person-to-Person Suggestions: That’s right, you can now send suggestions to other CircleMe users as well to friends who are not on CircleMe yet!

James Cook, The Winner of the Best Profile Contest
Last month we announced the winners of the Best Profile Contest. James Cook was the winner with few more votes that fellow Circler Marlon Alvarado. Since James lives in London, where CircleMe has an office, he visited us to grab a drink and, well… take home his shiny new iPad : – )
It was a pleasure to get to meet James and we had some fun talking about CircleMe and other things such as the unusual amazing weather in London during those days.
If you didn’t get to participate in this contest, stay tuned because we might organise more fun contests in the future 🙂 In the meantime, Circle On!
Announcing the winners of the Best Profile Contest
On the 12th of April we announced we were starting the best profile contest, a contest in which you could vote the most inspiring profiles on CircleMe. Well, on April the 30th, the contest came to an end and we’re thrilled to announce that we’ve got the top 10 winners who will get some great prizes.
The top user will get a new iPad, the second and third users will get an Apple TV and the rest of the top 10 users will get some fab CircleMe T-Shirts. Wondering who made it to the top 3 places? These are James Cook from the UK, Marlon Alvarado from Guatemala, and Nicolas Lecointre from France!
Below you can find the full top 10 list and the number of votes they received. As you can see, there was a ferocious fight between the top 2 users, with James taking the victory with a difference of only 51 votes!
- James, 819 votes
- Marlon, 768 votes
- Nicolas, 182 votes
- Marc, 76 votes
- Rodrigo, 57 votes
- Karla, 54 votes

From the CircleMe team, we would like to congratulate these top 10 users for their inspiring profiles and we’d like to let them know that we’ll be contacting you shortly to ask for the address where we should send the prizes.

The CircleMe Best Profile Contest
We’ve been talking for a long time on Facebook and Twitter about the new game we’ve got going on for our Circlers – The Profile Contest – in which you can vote for those profiles you consider the most inspiring due to their interesting likes, To Do’s, background photo, description…
However, we thought it would be nice to right down to all the details and make it easier for you to participate in “the most inspiring profile” contest too. So here we go! Starting with some simple instructions – we’ll give you the right answers that (we hope) will put light to help you better understand how to participate in our contest 🙂
- For how long does the contest last?
The competition started on the 13th of April and will end on the 30thof this month at 23:59 BST! (UK time!)
- Who is eligible to participate?
All CircleMe users can participate in the competition (except for the CircleMe Team, naturally). The only requirement is having a Circleme account.
- Are there any prizes for the winners?
We have some amazing prizes! Including a new iPad for the 1st position, two AppleTVs for 2nd and 3rd spots and a cool CircleMe T-shirt for each user ranked 4th to 10th.
- How does it work exactly?
So here’s the deal: You need to get as many votes as possible, so get your friends to vote for you by pressing the green “Vote for this profile” button at the top right part of your profile page. A new window-box will appear, asking them how they would like to vote.
- How many votes can I get?
You can receive a maximum of two votes per day from one person, IF she/he uses both services available – Twitter and Facebook.
- Can I vote for my own profile?
For sure you must love your profile, since you’re the one who created it, but hey: it would be rather unfair if you could, right? 😉 So nope, it is not possible to vote for your own profile.
- How do I get to know my current ranking?
You can find your ranking of the contest in real time by accessing circleme.com/contest
We wish you the best of luck in the contest! Go grab those votes that will lead you to these awesome prizes! And don’t forget to vote for those inspiring profiles out there that you think deserve to be amongst the winners! 🙂
Finding friends via Yahoo! Contacts
Hi Circlers!
This Monday we’ve got some cool news for those out there who use Yahoo! Mail. As you’ll know, until now you could only invite your friends via Facebook and Gmail. Some days ago we asked our users what their email provider was, and this was the result:
So yes: we worked on it and we’re very happy to announce you can now invite your friends using your Yahoo! Mail account. For this, you need to go to http://circleme.com/users/import and you’ll see the button to invite your contacts on Yahoo! Mail:
And if you don’t have Yahoo and use Gmail or Facebook, don’t hesitate to get your friends in too! CircleMe is much more fun with friends!
What service would you like us to add next in order to be able to invite friends? Let us know commenting on this blog entry, on Facebook or Twitter!
