The release of our Android app has brought attention to CircleMe from all around the world. Excited about its quick distribution, we are determined to continuously improve the app following your feedback and suggestions, and so today we release a new version of the app!
Just to start, you will find a brand new and quick 5-step tutorial that will help you learn the basic navigation sections of the app and unveil some of its tools.
You can find the second new feature we added in the Discover and Updates sections where there is a new smoother swipe-down action that you can use to update the feeds each time you want to check what new content has been published.
Since CircleMe provides you with hundreds of new articles a day associated with all your passions, it’s important to be able to easily update your Updates feed.

Never miss again a concert or an event by your favorite artist, nor miss a message from a person who shares your same interests and trusts your tastes.
Hope you enjoy these new features. It is our way to say “Happy 2014!” hoping you will always enjoy more your passions in life.
To download the app on your iPhone or iPad, just go on the App Store.

Italy’s Seaside Helps CircleMe Brainstorming
Dear Circlers,
This weekend we had our 3rd off-site in the beautiful seaside of Camogli (Italy – close to Portofino/Cinque Terre). Lots of work discussions but also lots of fun (and food and drinks often were part of that). Cooking class the highlight!
On saturday morning we had a really cool team building session where Chef Remo showed us how to make some local culinary delights: focaccia di Recco, traditional vegetable soup, pansotti pasta, wholenuts souce, pasqualina-pie, traditional oven baked fish, apricot tart.
This is Gab, mastering the art of making focaccia from scratch! Chef Remo and Elena felt very honored to see the artist create a master piece…

It was a lot of fun, but still lot of work had to be done… We have a lot of suggestions from you and we want to improve as much as we can to meet your requests so that we can grow and you can have more fun with CircleMe! For this reason we had a very mind-powerful meeting, this is our tech team trying to convince marketing team about “stuff”:
Well, for the moment that’s all… Just to let you know, Elena wrote down all the recipes from Chef Remo and she guards them as gold, but it may be possible to steal some of them and share with you… How does this sound? 😉
CircleMe meets Android!
We know lots of our Circlers have been waiting for it and now it’s ready…
Download here the CircleMe Android App!
With the Android app we feel we have improved some areas of the platform, thanks also to your suggestions and feedback. We focused in particular on the overall user experience and on the Updates and Discover streams. All the features you find in the desktop version remain also in the mobile version.
If you are already used to CircleMe you will know what to do… just sign in and start reading your news, liking new things and browse the map to see the ‘plants’. Just enjoy the experience on the go!
If you are new to CircleMe, do not worry at all! There is a smart and easy tutorial when you sign up then you can import your likes from other social media… it goes without saying it’s super-easy and you will be able to use all CircleMe features immediately. For more details check out our dedicated page http://www.circleme.com/android.
Dear Android-Circler and New Android Users, we hope you will be happy about our app and we are looking forward to reading your reviews!
Circlers, ready for your Xmas gift? CircleMe Personal Cards for you.
It’s almost time for the Xmas present, and you know, we’ll never let you down on that!
We already started Christmas treats earlier this month with FREE MUSIC to our best circlers, but we continue to master our creativity to give you, year by year, the most original gift we can think of. Most importantly, we want this treat to be about you.
You have been sharing you passions, reading our content and supporting us with your enthusiasm so we are excited to share with you what we have in mind!
In our ideal world, we all should be what we like and focus our life on what makes us feel good. And yes once you know what makes you feel good you should never forget it and also you should share it with the people you love. So… let’s get to the point. We want to give you the opportunity to introduce yourself through what you like, for the interests you have in your life and let people know that and remember that easily. (It also comes quite handy when someone wants to make you a gift!)
This is why, thanks to a collaboration with the great MOO.COM gang, we came up with the CircleMe Personal Cards. These ‘personal cards’ give you the possibility to introduce yourself to others based on what you like in life, and they look like this:
You can decide what picture to use, write a description of yourself, your contact details and then select at least 13 up to 30 of the CircleMe Likes you want to be shown on the flip side. The process to get your cards is very easy, it takes just 5 minutes and then you will receive the set of your unique 50 CircleMe Personal Cards for free (except for the shipping fees, which vary depending on where you’d like to receive them).
So let’s say they never get your present right. Well, give your CircleMe Personal Card to your friends and hopefully next time they will stay tuned with what you are really interested in 😉 .
START THE CREATION PROCESS AND GET THE CARDS DELIVERED ASAP!
Free music to our best Circlers!
From today, thanks to a partnership with Kiver, we are treating you to some free music. Yeap, you got it right: free music for our loyal CircleMe users (tell your friends)!
We are giving away thousands of free MP3’s which have been made available on CircleMe to users who either have a good Reach Score (i.e., 30), who help spread the word of CircleMe by having their friends sign-up, or who like exactly the music for which we have the MP3 to download. In these cases, the Circler will see a nice vinyl icon on the right side of the screen (above the feedback button), and that will signal that there is some free music waiting for him/her to be downloaded.
Of course, to make many Circlers happy, we need to limit the download to 3 songs each, but hopefully this nice little treat will still make you smile. 😉
We do it to keep up with our promise to serve you always more and better content and services related to your Likes, and also to thank you for being one of our most loyal and active user.
All the details of the program are here: http://circleme.com/kiver
We truly hope you like this initiative from us, or as we say… that this sounds like ‘music to your Likes’. 😉 And if you like this gift, please help us spread the word: we want the world to know!
Launching CircleMe Curated Items
To all passionate CircleMe users, and to the ones who are starting to become curious about our platform, today we are launching something we are very proud of: Curated Items.
What are curated items? Well, they are simply pages (i.e., specific interests on CircleMe) that any one of you, our Circlers, can decide to curate as an official “curator” of CircleMe. We want to give the chance to any of our users to become the ambassador of a specific interest just because we know that many of you are super-passionate about certain topics. Perhaps you already have a blog about a specific topic, or in life you are just known as the “guru” of a particular field: now, you can share your knowledge and passion also with the entire community of CircleMe.
Becoming a curator is easy and open to anyone: just visit the Curated Items page (http://circleme.com/curated_items) where you can learn the details about the program and where you can then apply for the role of curator for the item (or items – up to 5 per user) that you’d like to manage. If you are selected (and we will do our best to have everyone interested curate at least 1 item), you will be able to curate this items for a minimum period of 3 months, posting relevant and interesting stories and media on its page, and showing the rest of the CircleMe community what you find to be the best content to associate to a specific topic.
We have already several curators signed up, and you will start seeing these “curators” and “curated items” labels across the site. We hope the curators community will grow fast, and we look forward to having our curators interact with each other and represent CircleMe to the rest of the world.
We hope this initiative will allow many of you to “live your passions” even more than you do today, and by doing so, helping all our community of users enjoy more CircleMe and the relevant and interesting content it wants to broadcast to the world.
Ready to become ambassador of your passion? Get started by visiting the Curated Items page now!
A new friendly face at CircleMe
As CircleMe continues to grow its vast network of interests, the need to bring awesome content to our users based on their likes becomes paramount. For this important task, we are super excited to introduce to the world and to our Circlers a new friendly face who in the last weeks has been hanging out the office: Jelly! Jelly joins our team as a Content Manager, making sure you get the most relevant, coolest, up-to-date and unique content on all the passions you expressed on the platform.
But enough said from this ‘voice-over’: best to hear directly from Jelly as she tells us a bit about herself and why she seems to be enjoying her time in this little crazy world of CircleMe:
“I am really excited to be part of the CircleMe team. Firstly, because the team is quite fun and motivated. Then, because I really enjoy my job, and while doing my daily tasks I even get the chance to discover numerous interesting things. As a matter of fact, being a content manager also means being updated on everything that is potentially of interest to the community and this is quite cool since at the same time my cultural awareness keeps on expanding.
If you take a look at my profile you’ll see that the highest level on my Reach Score is for the category ‘Food & Drinks’, and that’s simply because I love eating. Chocolate and sweets are among my top food. But I also love listening to music and watching movies. I listen to all kinds of music, from rap to rock. Here are some of my favourite singers: Queen, Pink, Macklemore… Same goes for the movies, and in my favourite movie list you’ll find Pulp Fiction, The Green Mile and Life is Beautiful. What I love about CircleMe is that it is not focused on the ‘user’ but on the specific ‘passion’. It’s great to share all my passions with other people I might not know but who do have my same tastes!
I hope CircleMe gets known by more people because it is quite a unique way to tap into your network of interests.”
Feel free to contact Jelly just to say hello or to suggest some great content she should take a look at: she is always on the look out for the new interesting story which just hit the wires or that very original content to share with all passionate Circlers.
‘The chicken or the egg’ dilemma solved!
At CircleMe, we have made the concept of “continuous innovation” our mantra and our driver each day. In order to innovate, we need to be ready to transform and revolutionize what we have done so far. To transform though, it is important to understand where we are coming from, and where we are going… and so, the resolution of “the chicken and the egg” dilemma becomes crucial to our day-to-day business. Today, we believe we have solved this dilemma!
Even though we continue to pursue great new partnerships with content and service providers, which enable our users to enjoy their passions more, we knew this was not enought. While we consistently improve our algorithms for taste-graph analysis and recommendation, we just thought you deserved more!
For this reason, today we are releasing a very special feature which we internally call “CEDG” or “Chicken-Egg Dilemma Solver” (it is a technical term – please write to us at support@circleme.com if you’d like to know more about the detailed explanation of this complex term). Due to the incredible impact it will probably have on all our user base, the overall Internet community and (most likely) the entire human race, we have decided to activate this feature just for a day, starting now. We realize that an abuse of such ‘awesomeness’ could really be too disruptive for the rest of the Internet players and population, hence for this reason we are limiting its fruition to the next 24 hours. I am sure our competitors will be very thankful for our decision. (And we respond: “You’re welcome! ;-D” )
We know, we know. Once you will see it you will be asking yourself how were we able to come up with such intuition, and then develop it only in a few months. You will wonder who is the genius behind all of this, and how come never anyone had thought about this problem’s resolution in such terms. But hey, what can we say? That’s what true innovation and disruption is all about, and why you have the CircleMe team work on tough stuff like this.
Alright: ready for the CircleMe revolutionary feature? If you say so, well… take a deep breath and log-in now. Amazingly enough, the chicken and egg dilemma will fade away in seconds as the solution is hatched in front of you.
And sure thing… you’re welcome! ;-D
