Author JK Rowling (read here other news) has agreed to write a screenplay for the film adaption of her “Harry Potter” spin-off “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” spiking sales of the book on Amazon.com.
Within a day of the announcement the book topped the list of Amazon’s Movers and Shakers, which tracks sales.
Warner Bros. will make the film based on the novel which is a companion textbook to the Harry Potter books and the screenplay will centre on the book’s fictional author, Newt Scamander.
The book is a prequel to the Harry Potter novels and the laws will be “familiar to anyone” who has read the books.
The film’s producer David Heyman is promising something very special and says fans will be in for a treat.
“All I can say is that it’s great. Jo had no need to go back to this universe or world,” Heyman said speaking at a press conference for the movie “Gravity”.
Warner Bros and Rowling are also involved in television projects with the producers to make a BBC adaption of “Casual Vacancy” which is an adult-oriented novel written by Rowling.
