Mark Sutton, the stuntman who parachuted into the stadium dressed as James Bond during the 2012 Olympic Games in London has died in a freak accident in Switzerland.

The 42 year old Sutton died while wingsuit flying on Wednesday, August 14 in the town of Martigny in the Swiss Alps near the border with France. Police said it appeared that Sutton died after crashing into a ridge of rock.

The stuntman was one of the 20 top wingsuit pilots in the world who had been invited to participate in a non-competitive gathering of similar pilots who are filmed as they jump from helicopters. The accident happened on the first day after several successful jumps had already been made.

The stuntman jumped from the helicopter at an altitude over 10,000 feet.

Sutton and another jumper flew close to the mountainside in the Valais region and were supposed to land close to the village of Le Peuty.

Sutton stirred up the London Games Opening Ceremony as part of a stunt featuring Queen Elizabeth II and Daniel Craig as Bond. Craig reprised his role up to the point of the jump flying into the Stadium as Sutton as Bond parachuted in.

British_music

House music is being described as the biggest thing in South Africa for young people and now it is catching on in Britain and influencing musicians in the UK.

House music is as big as hip hop used to be in South Africa and is very commercial heard in shops, taxis, bars, parties, and on mobile phones. Some of the biggest names include Brothers of PeaceOskidoBruce Sebitlo, and Black Coffee.

House music first evolved from the Chicago club scene in the 1980′s, made popular in discotheques catering to black and latino communities before moving to DetroitNew York CityNew Jersey, and Miami. It then made its way into Britain but now the music is taking on a different sound – the sound of South Africa.

Soul and funk are major elements but so are percussionbass drumsynthesizer bassline, electronic drumselectronic effectspop samples, and reverb.

In Britain the music was first influenced by black dancers doing a move known as “foot shuffling” or “cutting shapes”. It became part of mainstream pop and dance worldwide since the 1990s.

House music is very popular in the Midlands and north of England in Manchester,Birmingham, and Nottingham but has also gained a foothold in London clubs.

Good things keep happening for actress Melissa McCarthy. The Mike and Molly star is reportedly in talks to star as female spy Susan Cooper”. This news comes only a few weeks after her latest starring role alongside Sandra Bullock in the buddy-cop hit film The Heat.

The Heat opened strongly the final weekend in June with $40 million and has made almost $170 million at the box office so far. Paul Feig, who also directed McCarthy in The Heat and Bridesmaids, would be sitting in the director’s chair for Susan Cooper” as well.

She was nominated for an Academy Award for Bridesmaids. McCarthy, who was paid US$10 million for The Heat, is pretty saucy off-screen too.

In an interview with the New York Times the actress responded to the New York Observer‘s film critic Rex Reed who called her “tractor-sized” and a “female hippo” in his review of Identity Thief saying that she felt bad for “someone swimming in so much hate.” McCarthy, 42, has been married since 2005 to Ben Falcone and has no children.
