James Gandolfini movie to be released in posthumously in september

“Enough Said” one of the final movies made by Sopranos star James Gandolfini before he died from a heart attack in June, is to be released in September.

A poster of the film starring Gandolfini and Julia Louis-Dreyfus of Seinfeld fame star has been released. In the film directed by Nicole Holefcener, Gandolfini plays the ex-husband of Louis-Dreyfus’ new best friend who she just happens to have fallen in love with.

The film will premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival. Meanwhile, another film, “Animal Rescue” the final film shot by Gandolfini, is currently in post-production.

The film was shot in Brooklyn, New York in the final eight weeks before Gandolfini died in Italy from a heart attack on June 19. In the Fox Searchlight Picture, Gandolfini plays a bar owner in the crime drama which also stars Tom Hardy and Noomi Rapace.

No release date has been announced but 2014 is most likely.

Gandolfini won three Emmy Awards, Two Golden Globes, and three Screen Actors Guild Awards for Best Actor for the role of Tony Soprano on the long-running HBO mafia drama.

He died at age 51 while on vacation in Rome with his 13 year old son. He left behind wife of five years, Deborah Lin.

Dubrovnik, pearl of the Adriatic

Sitting along the Dalmatiancoast of Croatia is the city of Dubrovnik. Nicknamed the Pearl of the Adriatic, the old city was named a Unesco World Heritage Site in 1979.The city was founded in the seventh century and is considered one of the ten best medieval walled cities of the world.

The city boasts Europe‘s third oldest pharmacy established in 1317. Many old buildings were destroyed in an earthquake in 1667 but several still remain. Among the cities highlights are the Sponza. Palace which now holds the National Archives; Rectors Palace, St. Saviour’s Church -all dating back to the Renaissance as well as the 18th century St. Blaise’s Church.

The wall of Dubrovnik is one of the main features of the city which is a popular tourist destination featuring many top class hotels. Each summer a festival known as the Dubrovnik Summer Festival is held in the city. The festival is 45 days long and involves concerts, games, and live plays.With a Mediterranean climate Dubrovnik has hot dry summers and wet winters. It has its own international airport is also accessible to the rest of Croatia by highway.It is used as the location of King’s Landing in HBO‘s series Game of Thrones.

Why the crowds are pulling into Fruitvale Station

The name Fruitvale Station has been bandied about a lot in the last few weeks. The film opened in cinemas in the United States last Friday.

Made at a cost of US$900,000, the film has already reeled in almost US$7,000,000 at the US box office in its opening weekend.

The film, which was directed by Ryan Coogler, tells the story of black teen Oscar Grant, who was shot and killed by police at – you guessed it –Fruitvale Station – in the Fruitvale District of Oakland near San Francisco in the early morning hours of New Year’s Day 2009.

Grant, who was 22 at the time of his death, was also a two-time convicted felon. The film tells the tale of the final days of his life before being shot by Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) police officer Johannes Mehserle while being detained on the subway platform at Fruitvale Station.

The film stars Michael B. Jordan in the lead role of Oscar Grant with Academy Award winner Octavia Spencer playing his mother Wanda Grant.

Jordan has had small roles on American television in the HBO series The Wire and since 2010 has starred in the NBC series Parenthood.

Spencer won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for the movie The Help.The film is Coogler’s first feature length work and has been highly praised. It received the Grand Jury Prize at the Sundance Film Festival.
